1.33am

bye guys... i'm leaving for new york in the morning. took a while to convince my parents that it's ok for us to leave the day after christmas, but i finally did. have a happy new year and don't get into too much trouble ;)

chat room (part 2)

ok there are currently two chat rooms on this site, with one pending. you can click on the link in the previous post, or login at the top of the page. let me know which so far is more user friendly, and i'll get rid of the other. still trying to find script for hosting our own chat instead of a remote hosting, so that may happen in the future.

chat room

well, scarlette, you asked for it...
working on creating a permanent chat room, one that i really like, but for now, if you click this link, you should be able to chat.

a real shoppe

i just thought i'd let everyone know, right now i'm posting from a coffee shoppe in g-ville that offers free wireless internet. what a novel idea*smirk*. now i can read everyone's BLOGS while i sit and sip hot chocolate. we gotta do something about that in g-vegas. maybe we can set up a wireless relay or something so that i don't keep losing signal at the shoppe there.

business in europe

ok, i'm going to address this in a post now, so we can get all the thoughts that have been flying around written down. maybe this will bring some more order to our plans.

important points:
-lander spring break is (including weekends) march 5-13
-college of charleston spring break is same time
-northampton spring break is march 19 until i come home
(i don't yet know what my schedule of classes will be like, how much i can afford to miss, etc until i get there, so i can't guarantee right now that i will even be able to travel except on spring break)

-anna found hotwire tickets for $377 from new york
(i don't care how you guys get there, but it'd be about a 12 hour drive plus the cost of gas, and less time in europe or more time away from school for travel)
-it looks like tickets from atlanta or charlotte may be around $100 more per person
-i can get discounts on airfare as well with my internation student id, but it looks as if they won't be any cheaper than hotwire or orbits (i should be able to get other stuff cheaper still)

what you guys still need to do:
-decide how long you want to stay and when you want to go
(how much class/work can you afford to miss-for the students, you may want to just tell your professors at the beginning of the semester, look i'll be in europe this week, can i go ahead and find out what will be covered...i can't see professors at lander not encouraging such a trip)
-GET PASSPORTS!
(make sure drivers licenses are up to date and match passports)
-get tickets (do you want to go ahead and buy them, or wait a couple weeks til i have a better idea of things on the england end?)
-save your pennies

once i get to the uk, it will be easier for me to make arrangements, so we will keep in touch via this blog and email to plan what will happen once you guys get there.

(btw, unless someone else fights me for it, i'm calling vice pres and head of international affairs ;) )

passports

ok, i checked on passport fees, and here's what i came up with. this is from the official web site, so i know its correct. The passport fee is $55. The execution fee is $30. The total is $85. i'm actually gonna have to wait 'till friday to do that, so if anybody wants to join me lemme know.

hotwire

i was just looking today and found that if we fly from new york to london, march 4-14, it would cost $377.... not too bad huh?

i am still here

i've joined the internet again, actually posted and am posting here. i have haloscan on my site now, and the template matches that of the shoppe, so if y'all wanted, i could use my haloscan acct to do the comments on here. the only thing would be that we may risk losing past comments, and i don't know if we switched back if we could get them back. but it would also be in english and the same colors. lemme know... take care

"i promise it'll get paid for"

ok, i guesss it's high time i posted here. school sucks. college is such a useless venture. i don't see how anyone could learn anything of any value in college. maybe its just that i'm going to a local college in a small town, but the majority of students attending college never should have graduated high school, which means that college is an excersize in redundant futility. how can people do this? judging from what i've seen so far, i'd never want to be a college professor. you have to deal with the intelligence and concentration of middle school students, and the freedom of a mature adult, but none of the maturity. its no wonder 60% of college freshman drop out. its not the dumb ones that drop out, just those who realize the futility of what they are doing, and find a better way to go about it. ok, that's all the complaining i'm going to do about that right now.

december dawns

well just a month left of all of us. i'm still waiting on josh, andrew, and russell to get their butts on this site. somehow it seems i had something you all should know, but now, i've not. dude, nathan is watching star trek, and data just kissed someone. go data! (of course it was a rational thing, he sensed that the chick wanted him to) post, people!
