ok, most of you have seen the counter over here--->
(as soon as someone posts, my arrow will be in the wrong place...) just wanted you to know, i think it runs off computer time, so any computers in greenwood are probably gonna be about 5 hours off. (if you want it right, set the comp to GMT) and, WILL SOMEONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON? brandon, if you have that list ppl made, send it to me. ::anon:: if you have a different itenerary, will you please let me know. if i get that stuff from both of you guys, i can try to make sure our iteneraries match as well as possible, and i can try to come up with some prices and a basic itenerary for everyone. k33p3r@gmail.com or comment.

tell me if i'm wrong

ok, there've been a lot of statements made that need to be either confirmed or denied. i'm calling a meeting, at the leisure of everyone involved, but i will be taking notes at the meeting, and i will have a list of topics to cover at the meeting. if anyone wishes to add to the list, let me know, and if anyone is offended by my initiative or feels that i'm overstepping my authority, i'll happily hand over control of the meeting; as long as it gets done. allow me to say that i think it would be a mistake to split into two or more groups in europe, however if people are in a bad mood(which hopefully won't be possible, 'cause hey, we'll be in europe!), i'm not going to let it affect my mood. if i have to, i won't hesitate to leave the group. i feel it would be an even bigger mistake to spend the entire trip in a bad mood and not getting along with the people around me. that is not to say that i think that we won't be able to get along, or that i would have just as much fun without you people, but that i won't let anyone's bad mood ruin this trip for me.

march 4-14

something you guys might want to invest in is the international youth travel card. check it out. you may be able to get some good discounts (sorry ::anon::, under 26 only)

athens is looking very expensive (like $120 just for a plane), but paris, rome, and amsterdam are still looking good. as far as sight-seeing, i'm thinking you guys may actually have more fun by hanging out a few days here and just seeing the scene, instead of the tourist stuff. once you let me know for sure where you want to go, i'm gonna be working out flight times, how long we need to travel, and get a tentative itenerary for you guys. right now, i'm looking at flights on easyjet.com, so feel free to check that out as well.
love y'all

the trip is on fire

ok guys, here's what i have from you all regarding where you'd like to go. lemme know if i left out anything or if you have something to add.

UK-
scotland: oban (for fish and chips) and orkneys, inverness and iona (for the landscape)
england: london (parties and shopping), northampton (to see my school/kingsthorpe)
ireland: anywhere-maybe londonderry (where brandon and i have family from) or somewhere else that someone has lineage?

holland: amsterdam (duh)

italy: rome (sightseeing), venice (same)

spain: anywhere?

and of course for the stamps on our passports.

ok, what do you think? how much time do you want to spend in places? where do you want to go most? anywhere else that is important? talk to me, so i can work on stuff. and someone email me your itenerary so i know just how much time we have!

by the way...

i've added parachat at the top of this page. it seems to be the most successful chat room i've found so far.

eurotrip

hey, peeps! keeper here. now that you all have the tickets and passports and all that shiz, we need to plan our trip. if someone could please email me your itenerary, and you guys leave comments on this post as to places you'd like to go, i'll start workin on it. i'm thinking that since you'll be here for a very short time, you may not even want to sleep every night (c'mon i know you guys). let me know anywhere you feel that would be a good place to go, whether you've ever thought it were possible or not. there are a couple airlines that i can get tickets to just about anywhere in europe for somewhere between £2 and £20 ($2 per £1) so let your imagination run wild! i figure also if we get late flights some places, we can sleep on planes, and other nights, we could just party all night and sleep the next day on a plane or train. also, if y'all don't mind, you should be welcome to crash one or two nights in my room (though its small, we've been in smaller places together before). some places i'd thought of: inverness, iona, orkneys (all in the highlands), rome, ireland, amsterdam. wherever we stay over, i can also find youth hostels, which are relatively cheap. and you guys should think about britrail or eurorail passes (easier when we have a better idea where we're going, though).
yay!
take care.

little update

about tickets...

as of today, on hotwire, these are the prices:
from atlanta: $553
from greenville: $456
from new york: $348

so... what do you think? whatever we decide on, we should book them today (i think...) because they really could go up and not come back down.

farewell

just so you know, i love all you guys. hard to believe we could form such a tight-knit group so quickly. i want you guys to make sure that it stays that way. don't get all un-shoppish just cause i'm gone. y'all have meant so much to me in the past few months, and i hope we can be part of each others' lives for a long time to come. i cannot wait until some of you come visit me in england! but until then, take care of yourselves and communicate often.
(i am really working here to not get mushy.)
i will most certainly keep in touch.
(and cause i can't say it too much) i love you guys!
